Indie Author Project

About This Project

Welcome, and thanks for choosing to build your library readership through the Indie Author Project (IAP). What started out as a partnership with Library Journal on the SELF-e program turned into a publishing community that includes multiple curation partners, all built to help libraries find the best indie books and share them with their patrons.

After submitting to IAP, your book can be shared with patrons of participating libraries across your region. If your book is selected by our curation partners, it will also be available alongside other great indie reads in participating libraries across the U.S. and Canada.

Additional Information

This service is free for all authors, no matter how you have chosen to indie publish. The submission process takes about 5 minutes, and you are welcome to submit as many of your books as you would like. Before you submit, please make sure that your book is:

  • An ePUB (strongly recommended) or PDF file
  • In the English language
  • An original work to which you own the rights

Once submitted, your book will be passed through the review process, and you will be notified within 4–6 weeks if your book has been chosen as an Indie Author Project Selection.

All submissions, regardless of audience or genre, may be included in your local regions collection, if you so choose!

If your book meets the above criteria, please click below to get started.
